BOX-hemian Rhapsody
Company: Crossroads Dance Indy
Choreographer: Brittany Gaither
Music: “Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen
Cast: Taylor Brown, Nicole Mikesell, Jacob Stumpf, Elly Kauser, Sara Williams, Zoe Lowden
BOX-hemian Rhapsody explores what happens when the grandeur of Queen’s iconic “Bohemian Rhapsody” is squeezed into a space that is anything but grand. Big music, big emotions, and big movement are packed into a tiny box as dancers push, stretch, twist, and maneuver to discover every possible inch. How much movement can fit inside a box? Apparently, a lot.

C-Jam Blues
Company: Ashley Lain with INtime Tap Productions
Choreographer: Ashley Lain
Music: “C-Jam Blues” by The Oscar Peterson Trio

C-Jam Blues by the Oscar Peterson Trio is an upbeat rendition of Duke Ellington’s classic 1942 jazz standard. Tap dance thrived during this era, pairing beautifully with swing music. A slightly comedic interpretation of the playful chorus mirrors the spunk and lively rhythms of this fast-paced tune.
Something Heavy
Choreographer: Erica Lohman
Music: “Something Heavy” by Jacob Collier
Cast: Erica Lohman
Grief is a messy emotion. Eventually, we’re forced to confront the heaviness and choose to either continue carrying our baggage or respectfully let it go. This often looks like time alone with your thoughts, experiencing struggle and relief simultaneously while sifting through them.
