Auditions - February 16
Hello, Indy dancers! Crossroads Dance Indy is thrilled to announce auditions for our Summer 2026 performance! The performance is celebrating TEN YEARS of CDI and we are so excited to celebrate all year long! This performance will creatively celebrate all things “Tens.”

AUDITION DATE: February 16
AUDITION TIME: 7:30-9:30 PM (Doors will open early for warm-ups; please arrive early to complete forms and bring your calendars.)
AUDITION LOCATION: Metropolitan Youth Ballet of Indiana (6210 Technology Center Drive, Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278)
AUDITION COST: Free (There will be a project-based dancer fee if selected to participate.)
AGE REQUIREMENT: 21+
EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Primarily aimed at intermediate/advanced dancers, but all experience levels are welcome to attend!
SHOW DATES: Tentatively August 13-23, exact dates to be announced early June.

The audition will include a guided warm-up, followed by choreographer-led combinations incorporating ballet, modern, and jazz movement, as well as improv.
​
Our rehearsals take place primarily on Mondays from 6-10 PM at Metropolitan Youth Ballet. If Mondays are not ideal for you, we are open to exploring alternative rehearsal times, so we still encourage you to audition!
If selected, we ask that you attend our Monday technique classes (exceptions can be made if needed). Rehearsal attendance is mandatory for all pieces you are cast in. While we strive to accommodate absences when possible, regular attendance is crucial.

Please note: Crossroads Dance Indy does not have a vaccination policy, but we will adhere to any guidelines set by the performance venues and will keep dancers updated on any changes.

Contact Improvisation Workshop - February 22
Join Crossroads Dance Indy, Maggie Xiao Liang, and Yinqi Wang for a transformative two-hour masterclass in contact improvisation, exploring weight sharing, partnering, and the initiation of movement. This class invites intermediate and advanced dancers to deepen their connection to others, refine responsive movement skills, and experiment with the dynamic flow of improvisational partnering, offering tools to expand both physical awareness and expressive potential.

About Maggie and Yinqi:
Yinqi Wang and Maggie Xiao Liang are two Chinese-born choreographers and dancers currently based in Columbus, Ohio. Their collaborative works have been presented at festivals across the United States and China, including 92NY Future Dance Festival, Guangdong Modern Dance Festival, and Indy Dance Festival here! Both hold MFAs in Dance from the University of California-Irvine and pursue a lifelong inquiry that blends philosophical reflection with rigorous physical research. They are connected to contact improvisation communities in Shanghai and Santa Monica. They are thrilled to bring a cross section of their contact improvisation experience to Crossroads Dance Indy!
