Mariel Greenlee's Bio:

Mariel grew up in Upstate New York, taking any dance class she could. For most of her life, her family cleaned dance studios on the weekends to help pay for classes at both her local competition studio and a ballet academy. She went on to earn her BA in Dance from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA.

After briefly riding the current in NYC, Mariel was lucky enough to land in Indianapolis. It had been a dream for 15 years to dance professionally with Dance Kaleidoscope (2005–2019). She then served on their board for the following six years and currently chairs their Education Committee. Mariel works locally and regionally as a teacher and freelance choreographer. Her work can be seen onstage at Dance Kaleidoscope, Indiana Repertory Theatre, The Phoenix Theatre, Indy Ballet, Summit Theatre, Phoenix Rising Dance Company, Indy Shakespeare Company, Summer Stock Stage, Relevations Dance Company, American Lives Theatre, Butler University, and Park Tudor High School. She is also blessed to be called “Mom.”

Mariel is the Founder, Creator, and Artistic Direction of Indy Dance Council, a platform she created in the hope that by increasing communication, creating events that expand exposure, offering new ways to engage, network, and collaborate, and by collecting and sharing relevant information and resources, the local dance scene will intersect more fully, be better supported, and continue to grow.
